The owner of this very nice 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider has even more headroom than Doug Demuro's 360 and way more than the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! comparo.

There's usually a story behind the purchase of a vehicle. Whether it's a Nissan Cube or Ferrari Spider, there is a reason why it was purchased. In this case it was pretty simple: he had a Ferrari 348. Apparently a pick-up truck driver decided to smack into the back of the 348. Maybe the truck driver wanted a prancing horse imprinted on his pick-up? Apparently he tried to not only hit the 348, but also run. However, the other folks who saw the accident pretty much boxed him in eliminating any escape route.
The insurance company began its process of evaluating the extent of damage and when they reached $50k, they stopped counting and totaled the car. A search ensued and in January the 360 Spider was purchased out of North Carolina and delivered to Colorado.
The owner is an elementary school teacher. That's not a typo. He has opted for expensive cars over wives, his words. I'm guessing there is a rich Aunt Harriet in his background or something. Does he drive his Ferrari to work? "No, but I live near the school and my students know I have it. They ask me questions about all the time. One time, I was parking somewhere and ran into my Principal. She asked what it was. I told her a Ferrari. She looked back quizzically." For the record, he drives an old pickup to work. "I'm not parking this at school. There are teachers constantly running late, a Latte in one hand, a bag of books in the other, and they close their doors with a foot."
Not unlike the rest of us, he is doing some upgrades. He's already upgraded the air box covers to carbon fiber (see above). He has purchased new headers as well. Unlike Doug's car, his Ferrari has the correct stereo. But he hasn't turned it on yet.
And for staying around this long, you might wonder what it sounds like starting up.
And a parting shot of a really nice car and the rear end of an admiring NSX.
*Warning: This car is not equipped with a fire extinguisher.

Is this the place where I leave complaints about Doug and his Ferrari? Because I don't have a Ferrari, and I don't see any way of mitigating my not-having-a-Ferrari beyond complaining about Doug and his Ferrari.

Still, I haven't a clue how an elementary school teacher afforded it on a teaching job, Haha.

When I grow up I want to be a teacher!

Love the Spider. Would've rather had the Spider. But automatic!

It seems like 360s with manual transmissions are almost unicorns. I was shopping for one at one point and was frustrated that the only ones available were spiders with automatics. The coupes looked like they were ragged on. Still, it's a great car. This owner watches your videos and loved the Cayman comparison.

I appreciate that. I hear mine will be available at the end of the year if you're still interested :)

Not a chance. I drove that F-Type and I'm smitten. Plus, I've seen what you've done with your car ;-)
